Zoloft (sertraline) is a prescription drug used for the treatment of a number of conditions, including social anxiety disorder, depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, but your health care provider may prescribe it for other purposes. Please make sure you report your pregnancy directly to your health care provider. If you think you may have become pregnant call your health care provider immediately. Some of the side effects you may experience when taking Zoloft include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, sore throat, dizziness, drowsiness, weight changes, loss of appetite, dry mouth, nervousness, bloating and some other ones. Make sure your health care provider knows about any of these symptoms that become worse and start to bother you. Before you start taking this drug talk to your doctor to make sure the benefits outweigh potential risks. In case of taking any of the following medications you may require a dose adjustment: sedatives, mental illness medications, antidepressants, seizure medications, cimetidine, aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, Parkinson's disease drugs, anticoagulants, sibutramine, oral medications for diabetes, medications for anxiety, migraine headaches drugs, diazepam, sleeping pills, digoxin, lithium, irregular heartbeat medicines, or tranquilizers. Additionally, your health care provider will want you to have some tests done to establish the safety of taking Zoloft.
